Martha Elizabeth “Libby” Bowers Myrick went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2016. She was a resident of The Crossings at Ironbridge, an assisted living facility near her family in Chester, Va. Born in South Rosemary on January 14, 1933, she spent all but 6 months of her 83 years in Roanoke Rapids. She was a longtime employee of Sears, Roebuck & Co. where she made friends with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom Myrick, Sr.; her parents, Walter and Lela Bowers; and her brothers, Willard Bowers and George Nethercutt.

She is survived by her two sons, Tom Myrick, Jr. and wife, Pamela of Colonial Heights, Va., and Randy Myrick of Petersburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Peggy Elizabeth, Tom III, Brittany and Kristen; and two great-grandchildren, Jack and Alice.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
